Eliada’s corn maze is a special kernel of Asheville fall flavor. There are 4 miles of maze trails and fun activities for kids of all ages. You can bring a blanket and have a picnic on the hill or eat franks from the snack stand at the shaded picnic area. It’s affordable and all the proceeds benefit children!
Kids can launch corn on the cob at a gang of stationary giant pumpkin balloon monsters. The labyrinths are formed by really tall corn stalks – the corn was way over my head so if you’re little you want to enter the maze with an adult. Be sure to get a map at the entrance, it helps you to follow markers that will guide you through the maze. Choose 1 of 3 paths based on the length and complexity. An important tip: follow the lines not the spaces between lines to navigate the map.
The hay ride and the tractor pulled train are fun too. Or you can go play in the large sand box and make corn castles or little ones can find their way through the hay bale maze. If your kids like slides, they’ll love the tube slides at Eliada. There are 3 slides so there is not a big wait. They are one of the favorite attractions because they are super fast! Or they can visit the spider web climb.
The fall colors are coming and Eliada’s grounds are surrounded by wooded hills. It’s a great place to visit and kid’s enjoy the story about Spookley the square pumpkin and his quest. Find out more about Eliada by visiting their website: http://www.eliada.org/get-involved/eliadas-annual-corn-maze.
